Football Rules & RegulationsALL TEAMS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO PLAY BETWEEN6.30pm - 10.15pmA TEAM consists of six (6) players on the field. All teams are permitted a maximum of five (5) interchange players on the bench. GAME DURATION - 40 minutes / 4 x 8 minute quarters with a 1 minute break. Teams must be prepared to play any game from 6:2pm to 9.45pm kick offs. Any team that cannot play these times should not enter the competition. Cancelled games and forfeit games incur a $105.00 fee for the forfeited or cancelled game. FEES of $105 per team / per match to be paid before the game. No other entrance fees apply to players or spectators. UNDER NO circumstances will the game commence if full payment has not been made. CAPTAIN / VICE CAPTAIN Each team will nominate a captain and vice captain. The captain is responsible to pay the match fee prior to the commencement of the game and ensure all players are listed correctly on the scorecard for that match. The Captain must ensure that all new players are entered on the “Team Registration Form” prior to playing, which is held by the Centre. It is the Captains responsibility to ensure that the “Team Registration Form” is always up to date. Management and the umpire reserve the right to ask for ID if required. The Captain is to ensure that all players are aware of the game rules. The Captain will be held responsible for the actions of its players and spectators. If a team forfeits then they must pay for that game the following week. UNIFORMS (no jeans) All team members must wear identical colored jerseys. Jersey's must be of the same color by the fourth round. The team without the same color jerseys will be given a two (2) goal start against them for each player that hasn't got matching tops. Only indoor tennis shoes or indoor shoes. No cleated shoes Shoes must be worn, no bare feet. Earrings, chains, rings, watches, hats etc. are not allowed to be worn during the game. KNOX INDOOR is not responsible for supplying a training ball. The match ball will not be given out. ATTENTION - ALL PLAYERS must sign their name on the “Player Registration Form” at reception upon arrival. The last player to sign the form is responsible for giving the Scorecard to the referee in order for the game to start. All players must know and understand the rules of the game and the conditions of the Centre. All new players are responsible to ensure that their name is entered on the original “Team Registration Form” held by the Centre. All teams are responsible for their friends and spectators behavior, as this will affect your team being allowed to continue in the competition. TEAMS ON TIME Teams are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the game. The umpire will start the electronic clock at the scheduled game time. Teams not ready to start will forfeit the game. Teams not on the playing field for the start of play at the appointed time will be penalized one (1) goal for every five (5) minutes they are late. Teams need to ensure adequate insurance cover for their own players. Knox Indoor Tennis & Soccer Centre will not accept any liability. FORFEITS If teams are unable to play a match, a minimum of one (1) week notice is required. If this is not given, a forfeit fee equivalent to the weekly match fee is required to continue on in the competition. A team who forfeits a game, must pay for the forfeited game the following week. Teams that are fifteen (15) minutes late or do not show up will forfeit the game - and still be responsible to pay the match fees. In addition, they will lose (be deducted) two (2) points from the ladder, and the opposing team will be awarded a four (4) point win. Any game forfeited by yellow or red cards, will result in the offending team losing two (2) points (be deducted) and the opposition will be awarded four (4) points. GAME RULES Players cannot make contact with the net at any time of the game. This will result in a free kick to the opposition. · No tackling, No pushing, No charging, No contact. · Injury Rule - (blood) No player shall be allowed to remain on the field with a open wound, or if they are bleeding. · The game starts from the centre ball up. On each quarter, the team scored against re-starts the game from the centre ball up. · The playing field consists of the entire pitch. Rebounding off the side & front netting is allowed. Hence the ball is never out of play. · No player can touch the ground with their hands or body to kick the ball. It is a free kick. · No more than four (4) steps. · No more than five (5) seconds holding the ball. · No punching the ball. · No bounding the ball. · No kicking the ball off the ground. · All the onballer players are not allowed in the full forward and full back box. · In order for a goal to count, a shot must be taken over the half way line. · The full forward and the full back cannot go over the half way line. · All ruck contests must face their full back and they have to tap the ball out, they can't grab the ball out of the contest. · The onballer player to kick the ball to full forward should be at least three (3) meters away for it to be a mark. · Every kickout from the full back, the full forward must stand out of the way in the square for the full back to kickout. · If the full back steps out of the box when he kicks it out, it is a free kick to the opposition. · No substitute of the full forward or the full back during play of the game. You can only substitute the full forward or full back at the end of each quarter. · When the full forward marks the ball and takes a set shot at goal, it will be awarded eight (8) points, but if he plays on, it's only worth six (6) points. · Any player who tries to score a goal from behind the half way line - its no score and the ball is dead. The opposite sides full back must kick the ball back into play. · Any player who marks the ball over the half way line can go back and kick a goal. · Any free kicks over the half way line - can go back and kick a goal. · Any player who marks the ball or gets awarded a free in their forward half, and do a drop kick to score a goal, they will be awarded nine (9) points instead of six (6) points. · A player shall be sent off the ground if, in the opinion of the umpire, he :- a) is guilty of serious foul play; b) is guilty of violent conduct; c) uses foul language (to the umpire or to another person); d) is guilty for the second time of a cautionable offence. FREE KICKS Players cannot make contact with the net at any time of the game. This will result in a free kick to the opposition.
SUBSTITUTIONS shall be unlimited, however all substitutions must be authorized by the umpire. No substitute of the full forward or the full back during play of the game. You can only substitute the full forward or full back at the end of each quarter. DISCIPLINARY ACTION The following serious infractions may result in game suspensions and/or immediate dismissal of any coach, spectator, parent or player for the remainder of the Indoor Football Season:-
GREEN CARD - Warning YELLOW CARD - Three (3) minutes send off RED CARD - one (1) to three (3) weeks suspension CARDS - Pushing or charging another player into the net is a free kick and a green card warning. A second offence will be a yellow card and a three (3) minute send off and a free kick will be awarded. A team receiving four (4) yellow cards in either the first half or the second half of the game will immediately forfeit the game. If a player receives a red card he will sit out the remainder of the game and his team will play a person down. A team receiving two (2) red cards during the game will immediately forfeit the game. Players sent off for fighting or arguing with the umpire or staff (during or after the game) will automatically receive a minimum of a one (1) match suspension. Management will determine the length of the suspension, depending on the severity. UMPIRE All decisions by the umpire are final. Do not argue with the umpire, he will not change his mind. Teams have no choice in umpires. If a team wishes to question or speak to the umpire, only the captain may approach the umpire at either half time or at the end of the game, in a calm and reasonable manner. FINALS All players must be registered on the “Team Registration Form” held by the Centre. If a finals game becomes a tie, extra time of five (5) minute halves will be allocated. If the result is still a tie, then five (5) minutes sudden death will be played. The team who scores first - wins. If still no result, then we come to a five (5) penalties each shoot out. Each player, playing in the finals must have played in a minimum of five (5) games during the competition season. However, a ring-in may be allowed to play as long as the opposition agrees. SPORTSMANSHIP behavior is required at all times and threatening, spitting, racial abuse and swearing (in any language) will be considered a serious offence. Management reserves the right to eject any coach, player, parent or spectator from the Centre if their behavior is considered unacceptable. Teams or players may be disqualified from the competition at the discretion of Management at any time and no refund will be given. Please ensure all valuables are taken care of, as Knox Indoor Tennis & Soccer Centre will not accept any responsibility for loss of property. ALCOHOL is to be consumed upstairs only. You may not bring alcohol into our Centre. All rules shall be interpreted by the Umpire & Management in accordance with the Knox Indoor Football Rules. Win = 4 points Draw = 2 points Forfeit (no show) = minus 4 points Forfeit (with notice) = minus 2 points PLEASE NOTE If a team requests a particular time on a certain date, as long as two weeks notice is given, we will do our best to accommodate your wishes.
